We know that your people are your greatest asset, and they should know too. Taking action to invest in the right tech for your employees will work wonders on employee engagement. 94% of employees would stay at a company if they felt it invested in them.

But ensuring that your employees are happy is easier said than done. You might think that you can spot a disengaged employee a mile off, but it’s trickier than it seems. Did you notice that Angelica from Payroll had to re-key this month’s data three times because the system crashed? Did Nigel in HR report how long it took him to cross-reference overtime reports with the Payroll spreadsheets?

These things may seem small, but they have a significant impact on your employee’s time and energy. If you’re not considering what the impact of the tech you use has on employee engagement, then you’re missing a huge opportunity to improve the day-to-day lives of your workers. And most importantly, you could be losing valued members of your team.

The following features are an excellent place to start.

Employee self-service

Empower employees by giving them the tools to self-serve. Administrative tasks such booking holiday, viewing calendar requests and accessing documents could be easily relocated to a self-service tool. Not only does this empower employees, but it may also free up valuable time.

Automation

No one wants to be drowning in admin, but unfortunately, it’s a common problem for many businesses. Choosing tech that can automate manual processes (such as adjusting pay calculations or totaling annual leave allowance) will be a life-saver for your employees. Plus, it reduces the risk of human error and increases your compliance for peace of mind.
