When we talk about leadership, we often think solely about the high level executives at the top of our organisations, not the managers that are the frontline in delivering the wider employee experience and carrying the organisation’s mission to customers.
Whether you prefer top down or bottom up methods, at the end of the day, culture needs to be owned by everyone to truly be embedded in an organisation. We know that managers have one of the biggest impacts on engagement scores. Managers work with employees every day and are visible as examples of what an organisation’s culture should be. The importance of encouraging them to own their role in supporting their teams in adopting change cannot be understated.
Watch Candice Cross, Director Global Leadership Development, IHG, discuss her session on helping managers to lead, and how all levels in your organisation can be empowered to own their role in a change initiative, at the HRD Summit UK 2020.
