This week HRD Live hosted the amazing Becky Thoseby.
Becky is the Group Head of Wellbeing at the Department for Transport. In this role, Becky brings a culture of wellbeing to DfT. She does this through training for their senior leaders, redefining high performance and integrating wellbeing into their reward system. She also took forward DfT’s first all-staff wellbeing survey and developed training for line managers specifically on wellbeing.
This week’s podcast focused on the importance of wellbeing in a workplace, and how much of an impact this can have on culture, staff happiness, and retention. Becky also discussed celebrating her upcoming 2-year anniversary at Dft, and the main challenges that she encountered in her time there. In addition to this, she also discusses what lies in the future for wellbeing, as well as how far this has come.
