In a working world defined by disruption, it is vital that business leaders are prepared to adapt to every new reality that is forced upon their organisations.

Utilising digital platforms to connect with our communities and share insights is essential in maintaining our ability to innovate and remain reactive, regardless of our circumstances.

On April 9 2020, our digital community will come together for Disruption in the world of work: A virtual experience, our landmark, debut virtual event. We will be exploring how leaders can leverage today’s technologies to respond smartly and efficiently to what is currently an ever-changing business landscape. What’s more, registration is completely free.

Here is a sneak peek of what to expect:

Training for Adaptability: The Human Skills AI Can’t Automate – 11:00 EST / 15:00 GMT

Artificial intelligence is currently one of the world’s most prominent and important technology trends, and is already creeping into virtually every workplace role. Whilst the man vs machine debate rages on, a collaboration between the two is far more likely, so leaders must learn how to leverage these technologies for increased efficiency.

This session will revolve entirely around this principle, teaching attendees the core elements of how AI works and most importantly, how they can seamlessly entwine it with the skillset of their workforce.

Leading this session with a blend of research and case studies will be Ben Eubanks, Principal Analyst, Lighthouse research.

Leading into Unknown: Designing for Continuous Transformation – 13:15 EST / 17:oo GMT

In today’s fickle business climate, change readiness is one of the most important traits an organization can possess. By extension, this is also a crucial trait of good leadership.

Leaders must possess the appropriate skills and capabilities to lead their teams, and ultimately, their organizations, through a transformation process.

In order to address this, we will dedicate this interactive, co-created learning session to exploring four particularly effective leadership qualities to enable organizations to smoothly navigate change, and even use it as a business opportunity.

Guiding attendees through this process will be Carina Cortese, Principal, SYPartners.

Defining the Leaders of Tomorrow – 14:45 EST/18:45 GMT

Aside from being able to navigate change, an effective leader must have the capacity to inspire in every instance, on a day-to-day basis.

This should always be the fundamental role of a leader, but with the current landscape of disruption and uncertainty, it is more crucial than ever. So, the burning question remains: how can leaders consistently achieve this?

In this session, we will address this question head-on, exploring how leaders can create a sustainable vision for their organizations by inspiring their workforce and connecting to the emotional experience of their people.

Michael Fracarro, CHRO, Mastercard and DeRetta Rhodes, SVP People Capital, Atlanta Braves, join us to guide attendees through this session.

Interactive opportunities

We felt it was vitally important to create an open, interactive and collaborative space as part of this event. So, aside from our focused, speaker-led sessions, attendees will have ample opportunity throughout the day to participate in delegate-led activities, including discussions and networking sessions.

For instance, we have allocated two slots during the day which will be dedicated to roundtables and peer-to-peer networking. These sessions will be led by some of HRD’s esteemed Thought Leaders, including the likes of Jill Christensen, best-selling author and employee engagement expert, Kirsty Devine, Head of US HR and Global Projects, Financial Times and Nanci Taylor, VP, Accelerate Agile, IBM .

We will also provide delegates with the opportunity to voice their thoughts and concerns on the current climate of disruption. During one of our morning sessions, attendees will be given the freedom to lead the discussion themselves, with intermittent input from industry experts Amit Parmar, Global VP Talent and HR, Unisys and Marcy Axelrad, Global Head of Talent Management and Operations, Wayfair.

During this virtual experience, we will present the first ever HRD Unchained; an exclusive opportunity to pose your burning questions to our panel. Whether you want to know how best to adapt to remote working, how to make your organization more collaborative or how to rapidly reskill your workforce, our lineup of HR leaders can address your query and give you the guidance you need.
