Establishing greater diversity of background at every level of business been an HR priority for years, but more must be done to bring greater support to people with learning disabilities in the workplace.
Mencap is the UK’s leading charity supporting people with learning disabilities, fighting to change stereotypes, challenging prejudices and providing life-changing services across the country.
One part of Mencap’s work is supporting people with learning disabilities who want to find meaningful employment and career paths. In this podcast, we discuss this aspect of Mencap’s incredible work, in addition to how HR leaders can better support employees with learning disabilities in their organizations, and why they should hire more people with learning disabilities.
I was lucky enough invite five members of Mencap’s team to the studio – Angela Buxton, HR Director, Vincent Gratrick, IT Director, Harry Roche, Ambassador and Communication, Ciara Lawrence, Campaigns Support Officer, and Mark Capper, Business Development Manager.
This was a hugely inspiring discussion, and I hope you enjoy it.
