Despite the economic devastation brought on by the Pandemic – an event which forced 4.8 million Europeans into unemployment in the second quarter of 2020 – the competition for top talent is now fierce.
Unemployment figures in many European nations are falling, with some sectors – notably, healthcare, pharmaceutical, tech and logistics – facing acute shortages of skilled workers.
To compound the challenge, we are now witnessing the Great Resignation, with more and more employees tempted to look for new roles. In a similar survey conducted in 2019, before the Pandemic, that figure stood at just 8%.
