Andrew Lawson is the Head of Human Resources at Shakespeare’s Globe in London, a world-famous Arts and Education Charity that first opened in 1997 and consists of two theatres, an education department, exhibition and tour, library and archive and retail department welcoming 1.5 million visitors per year.The Globe is part-way through an organisational transformation and change of artistic leadership.

Kim Atherton joined OVO Energy 5 years ago, first as Head of Talent and for the last 4 years as Chief People Officer. She has and has overseen rapid employee growth from 100 to 1,500 employees and taken the business from 172nd to 20th in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work. Prior to this she was a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, consulting globally with organisations including HSBC, Virgin Atlantic and Novartis.
Whilst at OVO, Kim developed just3things.com, a goal setting software platform, which was instrumental in the company’s successful transition to an agile network of teams organisational structure. Kim has now launched the platform commercially and continues to juggle her role at OVO with running this business.

I am Group Head of Wellbeing at the Department for Transport. My aim is to bring a culture of wellbeing to the Department, where wellbeing is a thread running through everything we do. I have brought a person centred approach to wellbeing at DfT, which enables us to target the causes of poor wellbeing, rather than focusing on the symptoms. It also makes us more inclusive, as we treat each person as an individual, instead of seeing them through the lens of a particular issue, condition or set of circumstances. And it recognises that wellbeing is a multifaceted issue, resting on a number of different variables, many of which are interdependent. I believe that each person is their own best expert and has the right to define what wellbeing means to them, and the role of the organisation is to enable colleagues to achieve their desired future state. We therefore encourage colleagues to be proactive and self aware about their own wellbeing, to seek help when they need it and have open conversations with their line managers about their wellbeing.
My professional background is in HR and I have previously held roles as a business partner and in employee relations. I practice as a wellbeing coach both privately and as part of my role, and run mindfulness sessions in the workplace for team building and on a drop-in basis.
Regarding my own wellbeing, my ethos is very much based in evolutionary physiology, motivated by the desire to maintain a healthy body into later life, and to move with grace and control. I work out regularly (some might say frequently!), have been practicing Qi Gong for several years, have followed the Paleo lifestyle for almost as long, and have more recently come to Pilates.

This experience spans 15 years mainly specialising in the Telco, Technology and Product space but he also has set up a successful HR & Recruitment consultancy before selling.
