According to fresh research from Degreed, the need to upskill and reskill is an urgent priority, both for professionals’ individual prospects and organisations on the whole.
Recent findings paint a stark picture. Employers are keen for teams to have specialised expertise, like soft skills and digital capabilities, but many professionals may not understand what the most in-demand skills are, and how to acquire them.
The pandemic has limited learning and development opportunities across organisations, which can cause immense stress if there is the perception that upskilling and reskilling isn’t taking place.
Lastly, professionals lacking the appropriate skills at work can cause a range of negative outcomes, including higher organisational turnover and weaker consumer demand.
How can leaders strategise to overcome these conditions? What are the best resources to upskill and reskill today? Why are skills ‘expiring’ at an ever faster rate?
On our latest podcast, Chuck Heaton, HRD Thought Leader and CHRO of Camin Cargo Control, and Isael Paz-Zimbeck, Director of Business Solutions at Degreed, dive into the key issues pertaining to upskilling and reskilling.
