Thanks to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the world still continues to turn during a crisis. Mankind has reached a technological juncture whereby, even in the throes of a global pandemic, we can still attend the workplace, hold conferences, govern countries, try criminals, and much more.

And yet, the extent to which our processes are having the desired impact is another matter entirely. Keeping employees engaged and connected is a practice that has been built almost entirely on the dynamic that exists in a physical workspace. As a result, whilst our organizations are still largely functional, the way we meet is different, the way we manage is different, the way we approach wellbeing is different, and the list goes on.

With that being said, the obvious question to ponder is how do we keep employee engagement high during a time where it’s never been more difficult to feel connected to your colleagues and the wider organization?

What’s more, the potential knock-on effects of this are almost self-explanatory, with a proven link between employee engagement and overall organizational health now well-established.

To glean some further insight on the matter, we sat down for an episode of the HRD Live Podcast with Alex Powell, director of client culture and engagement, Reward Gateway. We discussed all things leadership and engagement, exploring how organizations can leverage these things to navigate through the ongoing disruption.
