One of the biggest causes of anxiety at work is job security and knowing that your job is entirely safe. It’s hard to be fully secure when the job landscape is dramatically changing every day. We take a look at the potential jobs of the future, and some futuristic jobs that have already been created and filled.

It’s so fascinating considering what jobs will be on offer in 5, 10 or even 50 years time. How much will our skillsets adapt and change to the working world’s needs, and what will that mean for education? Will an influx of workers be heading back to school?

Ageing population

There are many industries that will grow, caregiving being one of these because we are all living longer and need ample support as we grow older. There are currently roughly 5 million people in the UK over the age of 75, this is due to rise to 9.5 million by 2037.

Technology is also another huge advancement, which is not only changing how we work but creating entirely new industries. Adzuna have carried out some of the most interesting research on the topic of future jobs and what skills and roles might be needed. Their study analysed 1 million open and historical roles that have featured on their job site.

With the current jobs climate focused on both hard and soft skills, including fears around AI, uncertainty around Brexit and deepening our understanding of each other – there are so many skills that will be needed in the future, but what roles do we need to create and how can you attract the best talent to fill these future roles?
